Proposed apartment/retail building at Downtown Sonora shopping mall on Stockton Street
Sonora, CA – Sonora’s preparing Commission has a few business that is new to review at its Monday meeting — one could help with the lack of housing in the city and another continues to spark controversy.
The owner of the Downtown Plaza Shopping Center on Stockton Street is proposing a new two-story 8,075 sq. ft. building to house five apartments on the floor that is top commercial area for stores on a lawn flooring, and 21 parking areas. The devices would include a studio, two one-bedroom, and two apartments that are two-bedroom. The building would be built in the parking that is vacant area close to Adventist wellness Sonora’s clinic.
The designer is requesting a niche site plan approval and a design review, images associated with building with weathered stone, painted trim, a balcony, and center staircase have been in the image field. Staff is recommending that the commissioners approve your website since it has already been commercially area and ties in reflects the architectural faculties associated with grouped community.
The Commission shall be considering whether or not to accept a use license submitted by Kenneth Hedges to include a microbrewery at Legends Books, Antiques and soda Fountain, positioned at 131 S. Washington Street. Hedges normally requesting a design license to put in a single or dual metal that is smooth along the Theall Street side of the building.
The final item on the agenda is a recommendation to approve an amendment to the development agreement with the Hazy Bulldog Farms, LLC that would allow the marijuana dispensary to sell pot that is recreational. In November, the town council authorized the measure that is controversial limited recreational sales after a five-hour meeting where more than 50 individuals spoke in opposition, as reported here.
