A Bunnell man is facing felony drug possession and child neglect charges after the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office Dec. 29 issued a search warrant at a Bunnell residence.
Dakota Keith Brill, 28, was charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell within 1,000 feet of a school or place of worship; marijuana possession of 20 grams or more; possession of drug paraphernalia; and child neglect without great bodily harm.
Flagler County sheriff’s deputies and the SWAT team issued the search warrant 10 First Court, according to an arrest affidavit.
During the search, law enforcement officials located approximately 8 grams of cannabis; approximately 38 grams of THC concentrate; approximately 22 grams of THC concentrate; approximately 36 grams of cannabis in a glass mason jar; two THC cartridges; approximately 29 grams of THC concentrate with packaging; approximately 14 grams of THC concentrate with packaging; approximately 17 grams of THC concentrate with packaging; and approximately 3 grams of cannabis, according to the report.
The items were all located within arm’s reach of an 8-year-old child who resides in the home, the arrest report stated. Deputies discovered a notebook containing names and transaction amounts in the television stand located in the living room.
Further investigation revealed two loaded firearms in a bedroom. A fully loaded Smith & Wesson revolver and a fully loaded shotgun were found leaning against the wall in the same bedroom, easily accessible to the minor, according to the report.
Brill posted bond Wednesday and was released from Flagler County Jail.
